I looked around at a number of carriers and settled on ShipACarDirect for their competitive price and the ease of getting a quote. Talked to Bruce on the phone for about 10 minutes. He very patiently explained how the process worked: they are a broker, so they take try to pair up a transport company with someone like me who needs a car shipped. They were very upfront about how they get paid and what happens if a shipper hasn't signed up by your shipping date. Once a shipper was found, I used their phone app to record the condition of the car prior to the time it was loaded on the truck, and then again once it arrive. Their communication during the whole process was great. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

Even though my car was ultimately delivered by the date I needed, it took a few days for a shipper to be found. My advice to you: plan to have your vehicle arrive within a time window (sometime during the week of ...) rather than a specific date. This alone will reduce your level of stress :)
