I found out that a carrier was assigned to pick up my car by calling Angela at Ship a Car Direct. I called VIP Transport and got the phone number of the driver. I was told that my car would be picked up in the morning on Aug 31. So I took a day of vacation and waited for the truck to arrive. After a while I called the driver and he told me that he would not be there until the afternoon of Aug 31. That evening I called the driver again and he told me that his truck was broken and another driver was assign to pick up my car. I called the second driver and he said that he would pick up the car on Sept 1. I met the driver in the morning on Sept 1 and turned the car over to him. I was told that the car would be delivered to my brother in California on Sept 5.
My brother waited for the car to arrive on Sept 5. He contacted the driver in the afternoon and was told the truck was broken and that the car would not be delivered until Sept 6. The driver contacted my brother on Sept 6 about a half an hour prior to his arrival in Benicia, CA. My brother was able to rush home from work in time to meet the driver and receive the car.
The car arrived in good condition and the driver was very careful with the car and had the equipment to load and unload a car with small ground clearance.
The main problem I had was that i was not kept informed of important information like driver assignments, delays, and arrival times but had to contact the company or driver to find out that there was a problem or change.
