The Broker (Ship-A-Car-Direct) gave good information about what was going to happen and pointed us to some really useful videos for some FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions). She was very helpful and responsive. On pick-up, the Carrier did arrive a bit late, but did arrive on the day he said he would (just that he arrived in the afternoon rather than the morning). The pick-up contact was the sales person at the car dealership where we had purchased the car. When the carrier eventually arrived, the contact had to leave before the carrier arrived, but handed things over to the sales manager. Things generally went well upon pick-up. Upon delivery, the carrier was in contact with us as to more specific drop-off date and times, and in fact, he was a little earlier than planned. The carrier wasn't one of those multi-level carriers you would 'typically see' on the roadways (as we were lead to believe in the Ship A Car Direct) videos, but was a simple 3 car one-level carrier. Unfortunately, our car was put in the 'lead' position at the front of the carrier, so although our car was washed at the dealership before pick-up, it arrived full of bug splatter all over the front of the car. I didn't expect the car would arrive perfectly clean, since it was an uncovered shipping request, however, I was disappointed that there was bug splatter all over the front of the car. Ship A Car Direct had a nice phone app that lead you step by step through the delivery process at drop-off to take pictures of the car from various angles. That was quite useful. All in all a very pleasant experience. I would use Ship A Car Direct again, but if you were specific about the 'type of carrier', I would suggest you clarify that up front with the Broker. When the Ship-A-Car-Direct video said the type of 'shipping carrier you typically see on the roadways', I've mostly seen the multi-level carriers, which tends to better protect the lead car from bugs, or greatly lessens the chance that YOURS is that lead car ready to eat bugs. :-)
