We hadn't shipped a vehicle before, so the whole process of identifying a trustworthy company to arrange a coast to coast shipment was a bit nerve wracking as there are so many horror stories and negative comments out there. After quite a bit of research, and contacting several companies we decided to go with Ship a Car Direct. They were extremely professional, very responsive to questions, and kept in contact throughout the entire process. There were no surprises, price adjustments, delays, or issues / damage to our car traveling on an open carrier from California to South Carolina. They arranged for our vehicle to be transported with Transauto Logistics, and the pickup occurred exactly on the day we requested (typically there is a several day window). They arrived on time, confirming 30 minutes prior to arrival, and the pickup process went smoothly documenting the vehicle condition & mileage prior to loading. Delivery went just as smoothly, as they called in route letting us know their anticipated arrival date, then following up the day before to set up a tentative time, then confirming that time on the day of delivery. The vehicle arrived essentially in the same condition in which is was loaded (although a bit dusty/dirty from the long distance on an open carrier) but no damage and no extra mileage on the odometer. The whole process went very smoothly, and completely eliminated any fear that I had in auto transportation. If and when I need to ship a vehicle again, the only call I will be making is to Ship a Car Direct and letting them take care of my needs.
