Ship a Car Direct successfully brokered the shipment of our vehicle from Illinois to California. The agent, Mike, was helpful and communicative and talking with him was quite enlightening. I also highly recommend reading through the FAQ on their website as it is very informative. I had a pretty narrow time window for delivery and pickup of the vehicle but did find a carrier a couple days before pickup (Safe Auto Transport). Note that carriers cannot usually drive their large rigs into neighborhoods so you must meet them with the car somewhere nearby. In our case this was a nearby supermarket parking lot. Safe Auto Transport called ahead on the day of the scheduled pickup to let me know that the driver had been unfortunately delayed (through no fault of his own). Because of their tight schedule, the options for pickup times were inconvenient and basically non-negotiable: either close to midnight or 7 am the next day, which did not work with our previously arranged schedule, but we found a friend to hand over the keys for us. The transit time was a couple days longer than anticipated (10 days total), but our car was delivered in good condition albeit a little dustier. Throughout this process Ship a Car Direct was friendly and communicative on their part and contacted me after the process to solicit my feedback, which I appreciate. Overall, I would go with Ship a Car Direct again. However one just needs to understand the way carriers/drivers work and be aware of what is within your (and Ship a Car's) control vs. that of the end carrier and the way the industry prefers to work.
