AHHH the incomparable Mr. William lee, true evidence to the fact that you really cannot please everybody. We are sorry that he is unhappy with the service he received, but after jumping through every hoop he put before us, he decided that hiring two brokers was better than one. Never a good idea, seems good on paper, but it never works out well. The whole thing reminds me of the saying "When a man with money meets a man with experience, the man with the experience winds up with the money, and the man with money winds up with the experience." It sounds a little crass, I know, but the reason I use that is we originally quoted him $925 for his move, he said he wanted it for 875, we said we would try. If he had listened to us, the folks who move cars, and kept it at our original price of $925 he would not have had the headaches he had, I would bet his $150 on it. We would have had ample, excellent carriers to choose from. BUT, we got him set up at 875. Hooray for Mr. Lee. BUT come late one Friday afternoon, his first carrier calls us to let us know they don't have the room they thought, it happens, and they are sorry. We go back to work. By Monday morning, we have him set up with a second carrier, they will pickup on Wednesday and deliver 3 or 4 days later in NC, mind you the trip normally takes 7-10 days on average so it's a great scenario. Mr. Lee says no, it has to be picked up today, and even though our order terms clearly state that DATES ARE NOT GUARANTEES (learn that lesson and you are 90% more likely to have a pleasant car moving experience) we tell carrier #2 thanks but no thanks and go back to the drawing board. And guess what, we find a 3rd carrier that will pick up that evening. Mr. Lee's response (filtering out some generally bad manners) was he had hired another company. So yes, we kept the deposit. I hope you don't think that makes us bad people, we just like to get paid for performing our jobs. (and to be perfectly honest, we probably would have refunded him, but he was rude and ill mannered. There, I said it)
