I recently moved from Salt Lake City to Miami Beach. My movers came to pack up my apartment on Thursday and I flew out that evening as my lease was completed at end of day Thursday. I initially booked my car transport with another company due to the low price and explained two weeks in advance that I absolutely needed my car picked up by Wednesday of the scheduled week. I was promised a pickup "Monday or Tuesday". Well Monday came and went, not a word. Tuesday, one email response telling me to be patient. Wednesday morning I called and called and I was finally told my car would get picked up Wednesday before noon. Well, 6 hours went by and neither the driver or booking agent was answering or returning my calls. Finally the booking agent called me back but started yelling at me! I told her that she told me the car would be picked up by noon and she told me things happen. Well, I understand "things happen" but there was zero communication to me and of course, I got worried.
I got nervous and called Derrick at Silver Express who had previously given me a quote for transport. I hadn't gone with Silver because they were higher priced however, now I see why. I told Derrick what was going on and he told me to give him one hour and he would see what he could do and call me back. He called me back within 10 minutes and told me he could pick my car up Thursday. I confirmed and booked with Derrick right away. Within 5 minutes, he had not only sent me the driver's contact information, the driver had called me and we discussed and confirmed my pickup. This was Wednesday evening. The following morning, the driver called me to keep me updated on my pickup and while he did get delayed at a drop-off, he remained in contact with me all day. He met me near the airport so I could catch my flight and everything went well. The date for drop off on my contract was scheduled for Thursday or Friday of the following week but to my surprise, he called me Sunday evening to let me know he would be there on Monday! This was great news. Monday morning, we spoke again and he gave me about 3 hours notice to go to the bank and arrange the drop off. He called again when he was about an hour out and again when he was 15 minutes out. The communication with this company and the driver was fantastic. I am not unreasonable. I understand that things happen. Weather gets bad, drop-offs take longer etc. All of that is reasonable and as long as the driver communicates and let's me know what is going on, I am fine with it.
Silver Express completely turned around a horrible and worrisome experience. Both Derrick and "Yankee" (the driver) were awesome.
Some advice - if a company asks you for a deposit, don't go with them. If they have the lowest price, there is probably a reason for that. Derrick warned me about the deposit when I first spoke with him and I wish I had listened.
I can't say enough good things about Silver Express. If we need to ship our car again, we will absolutely be calling them back.

One last thing - I did mark that the car was dirty when I received it but I thought it was a weird question. I don't think this reflects the driver/company in any way. The car was outside for 4 days driving across the country. I expected it to need to be washed.
