I researched a few companies, and Sonic seemed to be legit. Their first quote to me was $675 from WI to FL. I had quotes from $400-$1,000 from various companies. This is the fist time I had ever transported a car, and I wasn’t familiar with the process.
I reviewed their DOT # and MC # to make sure they were legit as well as their website. I decided to go with them and signed a contract. BIG MISTAKE!
The quote was for $675 ($100 to Sonic and $575 to the driver). The day the car was to be picked up, I got a text from the “driver” of the transport company and he told me his route has changed and he could no longer pick up my vehicle.
Iren from Sonic immediately called me within moments of receiving this text. She apologized profusely and said she was going to work very hard to get me a new transport company.
My phone blew up with phone calls, voicemail messages, and texts from new transport companies offering to transport my vehicle down to Florida (the amounts ranged from $1500-$2000).
Iren called back and told me that she found a company that would transport it for $1500. I said “what happened to the contract that I signed for $675? I got her down to $1,050 ($350 for Sonic and $700 for the driver).
I hope I never have to transport a car again because I honestly don’t know how legit this was.
The only positive is, Iren was very nice.
