Considering I had not dealt with shipping/transporting a vehicle via a shipper, the overall experience was satisfactory. There were three points of this process that precluded this from being an 'excellent' experience: first - despite mentioning the fact that the vehicle I wanted to ship was a "Toyota van" from the beginning, all carrier companies vying for the contract were surprised by that fact (all assumed it was a sedan-type vehicle); secondly - for some odd reason, my requests for written verification of the carrier(s)' liability insurance details were not fully understood ... several attempts were required to get that accomplished; thirdly - the actual carrier (Central Carrier, Inc) had, in my opinion, a somewhat lackadaisical approach to the matter: I was never contacted by the carrier ... had to call them to ask when the pick-up would be - was given a Thursday ... when I had not heard from them by late afternoon, I again called them .. I then was informed (verbatim) of the pick-up but for the following day, without being given a pick-up time 'window' much less an actual estimation (ETA) of the driver's arrival ... at the delivery destination, also, the recipient was given about a 30-minute notice of arrival and delivery.
