I used South Beach Transport at the recommendation of a co-worker, and then upon seeing their quote (which they represented as being the final price) of $850. However, I ended up being very disappointed with the process and overall service. My husband and I were in the process of moving from Virginia to Texas, and made the move into a bit of a vacation, taking a week to make the trip. We had friends at our previous residence who held onto our 2nd vehicle for us until it could be picked up by the mover. When I signed the contract with South Beach, I let them know we did not need the vehicle immediately, but that the important thing was that it not arrive before we do. However, South Beach arranged for a tranaport company that had stated the car would get there one day earlier than we would be available. Mark Evans, our contact at South Beach Transport, contacted me to see if this would be ok, stating that we would need to pay upfront and then the movers would leave the vehicle at the hotel we would be staying temporarily at our destination. I said that would not work for us, since we had already left Virginia and would not ask our friends to get the cash to pay the movers! In addition, we wanted to be able to inspect the car at our destination for any damage. I told Mr. Evans that if this was the only day those movers could deliver, he would need to find a different moving company. However, according to the movers, that message never was relayed to them. They contacted our friends later in the day to arrange pickup and stated they would need the $850. Since this was after business hours, I was unable to get a hold of Mark at South Beach Transport, but was able to make an arrangement with the movers that we would pick up the car from their facility and pay them at that time. The total ended up being $50 more than the contract stated ($850 for the moving company, plus $50 broker fee for South Beach), and we had to drive about 100 miles out of our way to get the car. I never heard back from South Beach Transport apologizing for the hassle. To be honest, I never did complain to them about it- between a big move and being 20 weeks pregnant, it just didn't fall high on my priority list! However, when I received an email from them months later, encouraging me to write a review and urging that I mark all "excellent" responses for customer service, I thought it was important to share my experience. I will note that our car arrived in excellent condition.
