Like many of you I had no idea which company to choose to ship my son's Jeep Cherokee from Tampa, FL to Los Angeles. I found this website and, after reading numerous reviews, I selected Specialty Mobile Systems. I knew up front that they were most likely not going to be the least expensive firm to deal with, but I was willing to pay a little more for good service.

I contacted Specialty Mobile via e-mail on a Wednesday in early August. Within an hour I had a call back from them explaining the procedure and answering my questions. One thing that I appreciated right away was that they were patient in answering my questions. (They probably answer these same questions dozens of times each day.) They told me that there would be a 5-10 day window to have our vehicle picked up. The next day, Thursday, I received a call from the carrier. He told me that it may be too soon for my needs, but that if we wanted he could pick the Jeep up that afternoon. They promised to store the Jeep at their terminal in Fontana, Ca. at no additional charge and to deliver the car when my son arrived in LA. Their driver actually called me when he was 10 minutes away from our agreed time to let me know that he was nearby. The driver was very professional and answered all of my questions about the trip. Just a matter of hours after the Jeep was picked up I received another call from the carrier giving me the contact information about the drop off point in the LA Area.

We were planning on a total trip of 7-9 days. Five (5) days after the Jeep was picked up I received a call from the driver of the truck telling me that he was about 2 hours from the drop off point and that everything had gone fine with the trip. The following day I received a call from the terminal telling me that the car was on their lot and would be held there until we were ready to pick it up. I was planning on meeting my son in LA when he arrived to help with the move, so I flew to Ontario and took a 5 minute cab ride to the terminal. They would have been happy to deliver the car to LA, but since I was there I decided that it would be easier to pick the Jeep up myself. The lot seemed very secure and the people were very courteous to me. Most importantly the Jeep was in perfect condition.

Perhaps we were lucky with the timing of our shipment; however, regardless of the great timing the thing that impressed me the most was the unsolicited communication of Specialty Mobile and their carrier. They were calling me all along the way not vice versa. I would not hesitate to recommend Specialty Mobile to a friend, or to use them again if we need to ship another vehicle.
