I worked with Rachel and Don at Specialty Mobile Systems to move two cars. They were very good to work with. The first car was a 1952 Cadillac from Missouri to California, and the second was to be from Baltimore, MD, to California. The Cadillac was picked up nine days after the ready date, and that was fine with me. A bonus was that the driver had an enclosed trailer and shipped the Cadillac for the $970 I had paid anticipating an open trailer. The driver, Dale, was great. He was courteous and helpful and was actually doing a quick detail of the Cadillac when I arrived at the pickup point. He was also kind enough to wait for me to return when I had to go home because I had forgotten the temporary operating permit. That shipment took 6 days.

The bid for the second car was never actually picked up although Don worked on it for several weeks. He insisted on refunding the entire deposit on that car even though he had worked on shipping it for some hours over the weeks without success. So even though the second car never got shipped, I think it was just one of those things that is unusual but can happen. I am still happy with the service provided by Don.

Speciality Mobile is toward the high end of the industry in terms of cost, but I'd rather pay more and be more certain of quality, and I think they do their best to insure quality.
