SMS handled problems I wasn't even unaware of! I chose SMS due to all the good reviews they had on this site. I could not afford to rent a car longer than necessary waiting for my car to join me in Ohio from Hawaii, so I counted on professionalism and promptness. These folks delivered on both counts.

Per Corry's (from SMS) suggestion, I handled the arrangements (via Matson Shipping) to get my car from Hawaii to Long Beach, CA, where SMS would pick it up from there and get it to Ohio. I kept close tabs on the hand-off because I was concerned about the two companies coordinating with each other. SMS constantly kept tabs on the car's arrival, rescheduling another carrier when Matson's ship was late, then mistakingly claimed I had not paid (which I had - Dee from SMS helped clear all that up when I relayed my payment info). This was the part I found out AFTER I got the car - Matson had claimed the car was ready for pickup up but SMS' managed to get a carrier that would wait 12 hours extra time for Matson to unload what Matson already claimed was ready!

When the car was near (and ahead of schedule) the carrier driver was coureous and gave me a day's notice. Unfortunately he got tied up on a couple other deliveries/pick-ups, and couldn't call to let me know he was not going to be able to get it on a day early like he thought. When I had not heard from him, I called SMS on the weekend and somebody from SMS was emailing the to make sure that we'd find-out 1st thing Monday morning what happened. But no need, the trucker called later that night and we arranged the drop-off early the next morning.

But since that day before, he was early - that only made him on-time, not late. He was only 30 minutes off - not bad considering he was driving in Monday morning commute hours. And then when the car came off the truck, it was in practically the same condition I left it at the docks - not much dirtier from the whole trip all the way from Hawaii and overland from West coast to Cleveland. A few stickers and wipeable markups for transport, but no suprises.

I would definately recommend SMS because even they are not the carriers themselves, they apparently know how to pick and keep reliable ones. Mahalos, SMS!

We at Specialty Mobile appreciate this customer sharing his experience. When shipping to or receiving from Hawaii, “wave conditions” are involved which puts another variable on the transport process running smoothly. This particular vehicle was brokered out to a company who is affiliated with us; However, we are both a Carrier and a Broker.
