I was contacted by David at Stateway after submitting a request for bids from multiple brokers. He offered to match prices from other carriers so I sent back the lowest one I had received. They were unable to match it, but came back with a very competitive price given other bids from other brokers. I decided to go with Stateway because of price and the fact that they said they were a carrier, not a broker. They promised to pick up my vehicle in a week and get it to its destination in 4-5 days. Two days before the deadline, I received an email saying that a truck had been assigned, and they gave me the name of the transporter (not them, though they initially told me they weren't a broker). An hour later I was receiving a call from the driver saying he was there to pick up the truck. I clarified a few last minute details with David on insurance, hurriedly finished cleaning out the vehicle and met with the driver. Given the hurried nature of the transaction and the fact that the transport was being subbed out, I was apprehensive, but Raul of Raul's transport was professional and very patient. He answered all of my questions and loaded the vehicle without incident. It was due to arrive on my daughters college campus the following Tuesday, but he got it to her a day early. She had no problems getting the truck back from him, and everything ran fine. Part of the reason I chose this company was because their website promised that I'd be able to track the progress of the truck online. I found out after that this was not available, but again, Raul was accommodating. Given the horror stories out there, this was a relatively easy process.
