I was nervous shipping my cars across the country because there are so many bad reviews online for the brokers and the transporters. My vehicles were dispatched to TFI from a third party broker. I had my first available pickup on a Tuesday and when I got the dispatch release they tentatively planned on picking the cars up on Wednesday and dropping the cars off at the destination the following Wednesday. After a few delays the car got picked up on Friday and they managed to deliver the cars at the destination one day early on Tuesday. The nice part was that the people at TFI were always available to answer questions over the phone when I was concerned about the delay getting the cars picked up. My recommendation is to ship your cars sooner than you need to and get a rental car because delays happen, traffic, weather, breakdowns, etc. You wouldn’t want to plan on getting your car picked up at a specific time and then heading straight to the airport. You need to leave a wide enough window for pickup otherwise you might find yourself in a pickle. This was my first time shipping a car and I am so glad everything worked out better than expected. Make sure you have the ability to meet the truck and driver in a big parking lot near the pickup and drop off locations. The truck is too big to load and unload in most residential neighborhoods. My driver was Frank and he was very reliable.
