Since we were in transit when the car was being shipped, our requested window of delivery date/time to San Diego was quite small. As it turns out, that date was the Friday of Labor Day weekend so our request could not be accomodated - and, we could not get to delivery location any sooner. Fortunately, we were able to pick up the car at the storage lot in Los Angeles. The carrier was accomodating.
