So, whew! The review before mine is rather inflammatory and quite a mouthful! I don't know that guy or Bill. All I can speak to is my experience with Transport Connection. Bill and Transport Connection came highly recommended by my acupuncturist's husband: a car enthusiast/collector, professional, etc. He gave me several names but recommended Bill to me above any of his other contacts for shipping cars. I moved cross-country and as a WOMAN (sorry, dude in the review below), I did just fine on my own. My friend's husband has shipped a LOT of cars with Transport Connection and I am glad I took his recommendation. Bill is a no bull-shit kind of guy. Lays out the terms and his fees clearly and explains a little about the industry and some of the pitfalls. My initial call was brief, polite, and to the point. I walked away with no illusions and understood how the prices may fluctuate and that there may be short notice with regard to when my car would be picked up. A few days before the agreed upon pickup date, I received multiple emails with all of the contact information and rating information of the carrier that would be picking up my car. I missed Bill's first call that night and we played a bit of phone tag but he called me back the same evening (late for the east coast as I am on the west coast) to answer any questions and make sure I knew the next steps. He and I had initially discussed a lower bid but agreed that he would raise the bid if the date was getting closer and he wasn't getting any "takers" from the carriers. Someone finally picked up my bid for $850 and he was able to negotiate them back down to my original bid of $800. When you're paying for a cross-country move, every penny matters. I was not surprised by this as my friend's husband had mentioned overhearing negotiations between Transport Connection and the carriers. Not a common practice in this industry from my understanding. All in all, I concur with my friend's recommendation and have nothing but pleasant things to say about my experience. Even as a woman. (Per the previous review it seems that women aren't able to successfully navigate their way through these situations without the help of a man). Thanks Bill and Transport Connection! For the record, I received no incentive to write this review. I just got a little fired up by a seemingly unfair review that was previously posted and that was the complete opposite of what I had experienced.
