Transport Masters USA were an absolute nightmare to deal with. The agent who picked up my contract was uncontactable for well over a month.
During this time, try as I might, I couldn’t get anyone else at the company to take over responsibility for the contract. I had agents slam the phone down on me saying that they were too busy to talk to me when I tried. Messages to superiors that they supposedly sent went unanswered. When I finally did get someone else (a manager) to pick up the contract, days before my vehicles were due to be picked up, with details and costs of the service they’d committed to provide still unknown, they did the minimum amount possible and left everything to the absolute last second, which resulted in the prices rising significantly over what was originally quoted. We ended up taking on a large portion of the work that this excuse for a company had agreed to do ourselves, and easily found much better prices. When I complained to the aforementioned manager about this, he called me “entitled”, said I was being a jerk and slammed the phone down.
The company then apparently tried to disrupt the fulfilment of our contract by erroneously informing the shipping contractor that we were refusing to take delivery of our vehicles.
During a later conversation, I reiterated that I was extremely unhappy with the service that the company had provided, and informed the manager that I was obviously going to leave a bad review. In response, the manager repeatedly threatened to sue me if I did so. After I repeatedly pointed out that a company can’t sue a person for leaving an honest review, the manager eventually offered a partial refund (<50%) of their exorbitant fee in exchange for not leaving a review. I said I wouldn’t be happy with anything less than a full refund at this point considering how incompetent and disrespectful they’d been (making no mention of not leaving a review, which I fully intended to do anyway). The manager went back to repeatedly threatening to sue me.
I am utterly aghast at the treatment I received from this company. I persistently and patiently tried to resolve the problem that they created and allowed to grow through their negligence, only to be met with dismissal and abuse. Across the tens of phonecalls I had, I slightly raised my voice all of twice, both times because the person I was speaking to insisted on butting in and talking over me rather than listening and trying to help. Both times resulted in them immediately slamming the phone down on me. I did not yell at these guys, I wasn’t “a jerk” to them. All I ever asked of them was to provide the service that they had committed to delivering from the very start of our correspondence.
In later conversations, once the full scope of their incompetence became apparent, they started trying to recategorize the service that they had committed to providing as some sort of favor, but this is categorically false. Right from the beginning, the agreement always was that they would provide this service in full, and that’s what I was led to believe that I was paying for. If I wasn't already getting reimbursed for these moving expenses, I would absolutely be resorting to legal action of my own to recover what these clowns charged me.
