After researching transportation brokers online and reading about the “bait and switch” scenarios that seem to exist in this industry, I decided to call Transport Masters and spoke to PJ, who was very straightforward in describing his process of posting my requirements, and adding their fee to the carrier’s offer. An offer came in at slightly above what he had expected and I gave him my approval. I had posted my requirements on a website prior to my calling Transport Masters and was receiving quotes all over the map, varying from $175 to $1500 for a 300 mile trip from Northern Vt to Southern Ma. The reviews for those at the low end were not good. PJ expected that the carriers would come in around $350 plus their fee, and I accepted a quote of $425 plus the fee as there seemed to be a low number of options for that route. The carrier ended up having brake issues and needed repairs which was delaying my pickup. Richard in Transport Masters dispatch dept. cancelled the first carrier and reposted the trip. Dexter from dispatch called me the next morning with an offer for the same amount as my original approval. That carrier performed the pickup and delivery on the same day and my car arrived in perfect condition. Thank you PJ, Richard and Dexter for great service.
