Unbelievably bad experience

I have had an extremely negative experience with Transport services for the transport of my 2011 Camry from Iowa to California.

After receiving numerous quotes, I chose Transport Services because I appreciated working with Stanley. He assured me there would be no hidden charges and even built a "no fuel surcharge" guarantee into my contract. I put down a $130 deposit on a total $820 contract in September for a November 4th pickup.

On November 1st I called Transport Services to make sure everything was in line for Friday and was told it was. On Friday, I called after no word and was told it would be Saturday or Sunday. After no word and a closed customer service for the weekend, I called Transport Services again on Monday and this time was transferred to Jeremy (the person who developed out my contract). I was told at that point that their driver's wife had a baby and he was unavailable to do the transport but would locate someone else. By this point, I had to leave my car in Iowa because I was beginning a job in California (carless). I continued to check in with Transport services daily (the answer was always tomorrow someone is coming) until November 14th when they located another company to do my transport. My car was picked up on 11/16 by the other company who was helpful and communicative.

However, I was charged $800 for the transport by the other company and Transport Services retained my deposit, bringing the transport to $930. This was not the quoted price. When I brought this up (again, requiring several calls) I was first told that fuel surcharges applied. After sending a copy of my contract with the no fuel surcharge stipulation, I was also told that the other company had charged them a fee because none of Transport Services other cars were delivered within a 150 mile radius. The other company has indicated this is not true and Transport Services was not charged anything.

After sending an email to Jeremy (not returned) and leaving yet another message (also not returned), I called another time and spoke with Jesse. I let him know in detail how angry I am that Transport Services has given me the run-around and also charged me a price different than quoted without merit and without informing me before the transport occurred. He indicated that is the nature of the industry and it is not illegal. He also said that I am no longer a customer and that my file is put away in a warehouse that can't be accessed- he also told me not to call again.

I regret dealing with this company and believe they are dishonest. I've pasted in my email contact from Transport Services since it appears the company has previously disputed that some reviewers are customers.
