Just shipped a Toyota 4Runner from Oregon to N. Illinois with United Road. After reading some of the reviews on this site, I was a little nervous. Seemed like there were a number of negative reviews and I hated to think that this type of thing would happen to my new vehicle. But I decided to go with United Road based on their A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and I'm glad that I did.
While I feel that United's was a pretty expensive quote, I'm glad that I decided to go with a highly-rated company instead of choosing a subpar company in an effort to save a few bucks. My car was picked up in Oregon precisely on time. The only negative bit of feedback I have to offer is that there doesn't seem to be much accurate communication between United Road and the driver who ends up taking the car. I needed to provide the driver with an updated contact number for the person who would be meeting him for the pickup and despite 3 calls and 3 assurances that the driver would receive the information, he still called the old number. It wasn't a big problem, but it is something that United should work to correct. It could be that the problem was with the brokered transport company and not United, I cannot be sure.
After my vehicle was picked up, I didn't hear anything. I was told that the expected delivery day was Monday and that my driver would call me when he got close. I was anticipating an early arrival, just in case, and sure enough I got a call on Sunday to see if a Sunday PM delivery would be okay. I said that it would. He called me again around 5 to tell me where to meet him (a large parking lot, 0.5m away). I went there and watched as he expertly removed my vehicle from his truck. I inspected it with him and found no new problems or scratches.
Overall I was very happy with my experience shipping a car cross-country via United Road. The process was quick, professional, and I'm completely satisfied with the service I paid for. The only thing which keeps this from being a 5-star review is the tough time I had updating the driver with correct contact information. I'm a satisfied customer and would recommend United Road.
