The car was supposed to be picked up between 8 AM and 5 PM on the pickup day. It wasn't picked up until 6:50 AM the following day as the driver kept calling to say he was going to be late. When the car was delivered to me it had oil all over it everywhere. I guess there must have been a car on the carrier above it that that had an oil leak. I noticed a fresh 6 inch scratch that was on the front fender and asked the driver about it. He claimed it was there when he picked up the car and he logged it as a paint chip on his inspection. I sent Geno the following email: This is Cary W. who's car your driver damaged. As soon as I saw it I asked the driver (Ryan) about it. He showed my the inspection sheet and it has no documentation of the scratch being there. It only notes paint chips with a pc marked on various parts of the car. A 6 inch long scratch is not a paint chip. If the scratch was there it should have been noted as a 6 inch long scratch. How do you explain it not being noted by the driver. His pre-inspection report is very detailed. How could he have a missed a scratch of that size when he detailed every tiny paint chip? I'm an honest man. The reason why I did not mention it on the delivery receipt is because I did not see the car before it was shipped so I wanted to be sure before I submitted a claim for damages. I sent the seller of the car a photo and you saw his response and his photo that clearly shows the scratch was not there. He has no reason to lie about it and nothing to gain or lose. Can you say the same for yourself? I could have very easily had mad a big issue about it and documented it on the report but I think that would have been wrong to do so with out talking to the seller first and finding out for sure if the scratch was there on not. I did the right thing. You should stand up and do the right thing as well. Incidentally I also had a conversation with Ryan after he picked up the car in MO. and I asked him if there were any dents or scratches on the car and he said that he only saw paint chips and noted them on his inspection report. I also think it's highly possible that the car may have been scratched without the driver being aware of it. There is only a few inches of clearance when the car is loaded and unload because of the carrier's frame design as I watched it being unloaded. Also a fresh scratch will begin to oxidize almost immediately after it is exposed to the elements. You should know this. Talk to your driver and do the right thing! Geno denied my claim saying that the car was previously damaged prior to shipment even though I furnished him with photos of the car before and after they delivered it. I would not use this carrier under any circumstances because they will damage your car and then claim that they didn't do. DO NOT USE VNS AUTO TRANSPORT!
