Wise submitted a very reasonable bid. Not the lowest, but those lower were either not door-to-door, or were likely bait & switch scammers. The Wise representative, Nathan, was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Being a broker, Wise secured the services of White Nights Trucking of Brooklyn, NY for this NJ to Northern CA shipment of a Jetta. I placed the order with Nathan on Monday. White Nights showed up Wednesday evening in NJ to collect the car. The projected time in transit had the delivery for Friday or Saturday the following week, about 10 days in transit. I was quite surprised to get a call from White Nights on Monday telling me the car would arrive that evening. The truck arrived within the promised time window. All went fine until it was time to pay the driver. The Wise promotional material expressly says the driver may be paid with cash, cashier's check or money order. I confirmed that a cashier's check is acceptable in a e-mail to Nathan. When i presented the cashier's check to the driver, he became visibly angry. He muttered something about telling "them", presumably Wise, that he needed cash. He groused about being low on fuel, needing cash and not useless paper. He took the cashier's check and my $20 cash tip. I felt kind of bad for the guy, but it was too late to do anything differently.
Except for the awkwardness at the end, all went better than expected. I highly endorse Wise. Just pay the driver in cash if you can.
