We would like the opportunity to voice ours and our carrier's side in this claim. As the statement issued here by the customer does not portray all of the facts. Simply put, this customer's vehicle (ATV) was delivered damaged, BUT THE DAMAGE WAS NOT CAUSED BY WISE AUTO SHIPPING, OUR CARRIER, OR BY ANY OTHER MEANS WHILE IN OUR POSSESSION. The supposed '$2000 worth of damage' was apparently caused prior to this shipment. When our driver arrived to pickup the vehicle, the existing damage was documented on the Condition Report / Bill of Lading and signed off by pickup contact before unit was loaded onto the trailer. This was ultimately the reason why the damage claim was denied and not because, as the customer states, '...had their insurance company deny the claim'. Now we understand our customer's frustration, as he purchased a vehicle from Ebay which arrived in a condition other than he expected, but Wise Auto Shipping nor our carrier can assume liability for damages that did not occur while in our possession. In regards to the other issue voiced by our customer, 'This company acts like they have insurance for this purpose', apparently accusing Wise Auto Shipping of making claims to be direct insurance holders for the shipment. Well this could not be further from the truth. It is clearly noted on all advertising and formal/binding documents alike, that insurance is held directly by the contracted carrier for the shipment and not by Wise Auto Shipping. This is standard for the auto transport industry and was definitely not portrayed in any other manner. At Wise we pride ourselves on being transparent with all dealings both with carrier and customer and would never lead anyone to believe anything that was not 100% accurate and inline with how we operate our business. Lastly, the customer is claiming that our carrier called and made threats over the phone to the seller of the vehicle, and again this is claim holds no validity. All communication on this matter, by both Wise Auto Shipping and our contracted carrier (Top Hat),have been nothing less than professional.
