I ordered a John Deere Gator off of e-bay (Wise was the "shipping company") and not only did it arrive late, but, it also had nearly $2000.00 worth of damage to it. This company acts like they have insurance for this purpose, however, they sub-contract out to carriers who do not care about your product and the subcontractors are the ones who are insured. In order to file a claim with the subcontractor, Wise requires you to get two estimates; I did this, driving 100 miles and paying $30.00 out of my pocket before they would even give me the subcontractors insurance information. The subcontractor (Top Hat Trucken) out of Orlando, Florida had their insurance company deny the claim. The driver even called the man I bought the unit from and threatened he and his family, over 10 times by phone! Wise did not offer to even re-imburse the shipping cost or the damage. After calling and requesting a supervisor, they began to just hang up the phone when I would call. Finally, the supervisor talked to me and said he would set up a phone meeting between he, Top Hat Trucken (Mike), and myself. This meeting never happened and I have not been able to get in touch with them since! The order was placed with Wise on 9-9-2010 and I did not receive the ATV until 9-28-2010. During this time I had taken off two days of work to be available for delivery, however, after calling and confirming the day before with Mike (Top Hat Trucken) the delivery never arrived. I can't even write all of the lies down on this page which were told to me by both Wise and Top Hat Trucken, I do have them documented and would be happy to discuss this company with anyone interested. Do yourself a favor and PLEASE use another company, they may be less expensive, but if your product arrives late and damaged; is it really worth it? By the way, when the item left Florida it had 16 hours on it and a quarter tank of gas, when it arrived it had ZERO gas, 17.5 hours, and was in 4 wheel drive...go figure.

We would like the opportunity to voice ours and our carrier's side in this claim. As the statement issued here by the customer does not portray all of the facts. Simply put, this customer's vehicle (ATV) was delivered damaged, BUT THE DAMAGE WAS NOT CAUSED BY WISE AUTO SHIPPING, OUR CARRIER, OR BY ANY OTHER MEANS WHILE IN OUR POSSESSION. The supposed '$2000 worth of damage' was apparently caused prior to this shipment. When our driver arrived to pickup the vehicle, the existing damage was documented on the Condition Report / Bill of Lading and signed off by pickup contact before unit was loaded onto the trailer. This was ultimately the reason why the damage claim was denied and not because, as the customer states, '...had their insurance company deny the claim'. Now we understand our customer's frustration, as he purchased a vehicle from Ebay which arrived in a condition other than he expected, but Wise Auto Shipping nor our carrier can assume liability for damages that did not occur while in our possession. In regards to the other issue voiced by our customer, 'This company acts like they have insurance for this purpose', apparently accusing Wise Auto Shipping of making claims to be direct insurance holders for the shipment. Well this could not be further from the truth. It is clearly noted on all advertising and formal/binding documents alike, that insurance is held directly by the contracted carrier for the shipment and not by Wise Auto Shipping. This is standard for the auto transport industry and was definitely not portrayed in any other manner. At Wise we pride ourselves on being transparent with all dealings both with carrier and customer and would never lead anyone to believe anything that was not 100% accurate and inline with how we operate our business. Lastly, the customer is claiming that our carrier called and made threats over the phone to the seller of the vehicle, and again this is claim holds no validity. All communication on this matter, by both Wise Auto Shipping and our contracted carrier (Top Hat),have been nothing less than professional.
