Do not understand where all these good reviews have come from for this Company. Talked to Terry on the phone for the initial sales call at least a month in advance of my move. Was quoted $1025 to move my car from San Francisco to New Orleans ($175 was their brokers fee and $850 for the carrier). Asked him directly if I would see a variance in price- he said No: the price is as quoted. Set a pickup date for the 1st of September with my last day being available to meet a carrier on the 3rd before I moved cross country. A few days before the 1st, I hadn't heard anything, so gave them a call. Terry was on PTO, but no problem. Explained again that I would be flying out early the morning of the 4th so the 3rd would be the LAST Day I could possibly meet a carrier. Was assured that I would receive a call that weekend- Nothing... Finally on the afternoon of the 3rd was offered pickup either on the 4th or the 7th for either $1250 or $1450 being paid to the carrier. Explained that I was quoted $850 paid to driver, but in any case, it was too little, too late: Game Over. Told the rep that I was originally quoted $850 and there would be no variance in price. "Oh no, Terry would never say that to you". Well, he did buddy. Why is the price I was quoted now at least $400 more?, I asked. "Oh well, that was just a 'bid'.. The price we're giving you now is the 'Market Price'" So, why didn't you give me the "Market Quote" in the initial sales call? Uncomfortable silence on the other end of the line... I reserved this date at least a month out to make sure that my car would be shipped BEFORE I left with my wife and kid. I trusted you guys. I was relying on you to come through for me on this. "Oh- so you've never shipped a car before? It wouldn't make a difference if you reserved with us 2 days before, or 2 years before. NOTHING is guaranteed in this industry. NOTHING" So WHY wasn't this explained to me in the original sales call? WHY am I learning about all of this now- at the last possible moment, on the last possible day? Again, more uncomfortable silence on the other end of the phone, followed by more lame justifications and Bizarro World logic explaining how they are not responsible for anything that they advertise their services for. All of which perhaps makes sense to people in the auto shipping world, but not to anyone else used to things like, you know, basic customer service, honesty and forthrightness in a business transaction. Why not just tell me the reality and cost of how the process would work in the original reservation? Just be honest, then I can make up my own mind? Thanks for nothing Worldwide. I had to cancel my plane ticket while my wife and 4-month old child flew on to NOLA while I drove our car cross country for 5 days. If you want something done right, I guess you have to do it yourself. Do not do business with this company- they are either scammers, incompetent or both.
