First, we would like our customers to note our terms and conditions state that, "All prices include $100.00 deposit. The deposit may be paid by Credit Card (a 5% or $5.00 processing fee will apply), Money Order, Cashier's Check or Pay Pal (a 4% or $4.00 processing fee will apply)." This information is taken verbatim from our website, is discussed with customers prior to booking, and is also sent along with quote emails to make sure customers are aware.
It is our job to inform our customers of every available carrier showing interest in their shipment. Hence, Brooke@WFT contacted the customer, leaving a voice mail for either Mr. Saunders or his wife to return. When a call was returned by the customer's wife at approximately 3 p.m. CDT on 3/12, I personally explained that "OK Auto Transport was available to pick up from the dealership today-but were asking for an additional fee." Rather than dispatching the shipment to a carrier whatever the price, it is our policy to discuss all possibilities with our customer in the case that carrier wants a price increase. At that time, I explained to her that they were in not obligated to transport through OK Auto, and we would be happy to continue looking for carriers at the price originally quoted.
At that time, no further carriers had expressed interest in transporting the Saunder's vehicle. Therefore, I honestly told the customer that other available shipment dates were unknown since we were still at the beginning of the process of locating drivers. She agreed to ship through OK Auto, I guessed feeling "boxed in" to the situation, for which we sincerely apologize-as it was absolutely not the case. Given a couple more business days (our average pick up time being 3-10), it's very likely that a transporter could have been found for the original price.
