On 10/20/06, A Eastern Connection Inc agreed to transport our newly purchased carpet cleaning van from Florida to California for $1130. The woman who gave us this price told us that it was a special ending that day, and if we paid immediately via credit card over the phone, it would save us over $200. She did not notify us of the cancellation fee or the many conditions of the contract. She told us the van would be picked up the following Wednesday or Thursday and delivered to our door in 10-14 days. The van was not picked up as scheduled, and we became alarmed and called to CX our contract only to find that we would be charged a cancellation fee! The lady assured us the van would be picked up and delivered right away, so we decided to be patient and wait for the van. The van was finally picked up over two weeks after the order had been placed and hauled to a HOLDING YARD IN FLORIDA (unbeknownst to us)! We were told each time we called that the van would arrive “at the end of next week”. Finally, weeks later I demanded to speak with the manager who told me the van was still in Florida! He had a new excuse every time we called, and finally on 12/21/06 he called us to tell us we had to pick up the van immediately in Florida because it was too heavy for him to haul!!! This is WEEKS AFTER he picked it up and moved it to a holding yard and over TWO MONTHS after we had placed the order! AND we are now responsible for the towing and storage fees of the van at this towing yard! Obviously, this company entraps people and I would warn anyone considering using them to STAY AWAY!!!
