We dropped off the car at one of the terminals affiliated with A-1 Auto Transport. Because we loaded some things into the car, we asked the person in charge if everything will be safe. He assured us there will not be a problem and we handed over the keys. First of all the car didn't leave for its destination at the promised time, delaying its arrival for about a week. Then we find out some of our stuff was missing. I lost my rollarblades, box of books, and some other personal items. If they had kept the car door locked all throughout the time it's being transported, why would these things be missing? This could only mean the people working for A-1, who had the keys, did the stealing. The first time I called customer service they just hung up on me. When I finally got through to someone, there was no sense of apology but rather blamed the incident on me. The rep who was handling my account never mentioned customers should not have stuff in their car. I would think it's very important to notify your customers of this policy because people are very inclined to put things in the car. Most other companies actually do allow this up to a certain number of pounds I found. What upset me most was how customer service handled my call. After that conversation I felt like they were ALL crooks!
