If you are looking for a company that will quote you the best price and then turn around and charge you double, this might be the place to go. I was looking to ship my motorcycle from Texas to DC so I submitted a request through FreightCenter. I received responses from many companies all ranging from $420 - $600. I decided to go with AAA-Available because they were offering a $50 discount if you signed the contract on the same day. Their "quoted" price was $420 but with the $50 off I was assuming I would pay $370. Oh how I was wrong, the final price for me was $575. This price was calculated this way, $175 broker fee, plus $400 transport fee. broker fees appear to be around $200 from all brokers, but the transport fee can vary. The other offers I had ranged from $250 - $400 in transport fees. The problem is not the transport fee, the problem is that AAA-Available quoted a total price of $420 and now they claim that the quote was excluding broker fees. The sales rep seemed to not care at all that the price quoted and the price paid was $200 more than expected. If I were doing this again, first off I would not use AAA-Available, secondly I would contact some of the people that solicit you for business and ask them what the total cost will be. There should be no problem doing this because the trucking industry uses a listing service to quote prices from one destination to the next (I found this out a bit too late). If you follow these steps hopefully I will be the only one AAA-Available scams.
