I was referred to AAAllStates Auto Transport by a coworker. I figured I had tried acquiring bids through the online services, why not call a broker directly? Boy, am I glad I did.
First off, AAAllStates sends you an email detailing the things a first time shipper like me should NOT do with any broker/auto shipper. This helped a lot avoiding some of the other "sweet" deal quotes I was receiving.
Next, their quote was significantly lower than other quotes. As a matter of fact, when the other shippers called to see if I required their services, they stated matter-of-factly that there was no way that my vehicle would be moved for those rates. They intimated that more fees would be tacked on later. They were not. The quote was exactly how much I ended up paying.
The car was well taken cared of and did arrive dirty, but the driver also had the unfortunate privilege of driving through monsoon like conditions on the day of delivery. The driver (Sunrise Express Trucking) was excellent to work with and very communicative.
This was the first time I shipped a vehicle and it was incident free. In the end it was cheaper to go with AAAllStates then picking it up and driving it back myself! Thanks Steve.
