My experience WITH Agape was good. Candie and Kelly were very nice and helpful when I was able to contact them. My only three complaints with Agape is; 1) Original quote was not kept 2) Lack of contact on weekends 3) the carrier they chose for me was awful. When no carrier showed up for two days, I called Agape and emailed them on Saturday and I didn't get a return call/email until Monday morning. For 3 days when I wasn't being contacted about why the trucker hasn't showed up or called, I was worried I was scammed. When Agape contacted me the trucker already showed up, 3 days late. Being late, no body mentioned anything about the discount that is listed in the agreement IF the vehicle is not picked up in the approximate pick up time (see #2 in "Terms and Conditions Contract"). I say three days late is outside the approximent pick up time. Being charged $75 over the original quote for this carrier is not worth it at all. Agape doesn't have any blame for the truckers extra charge, lack of communication, and failing to meet pickup and drop off times. Agape is a good broker, but the carrier they chose and not being able to meet quote loses stars.

For the carrier company, Cake Auto Transport [prev: Jim D. Hunter Trucking]... AVOID at all costs. Here is my experience with them...

Friday: Day of pickup: no pick up, no phone call about why they can't pick up. I called the trucking office at 8pm and they said the truckers should be there by the end of the day. They never showed.

Saturday: Still no call from truckers or carrier. Someone picked up late Saturday night at the truckers office, they could not find out why the truckers are late and didn't seem to care about my service, horrible customer service.

Sunday: FINALLY received a call from truckers late afternoon. They said they could not drive down our street even though we told them we've had numerous semi's drive down without a problem (including a car carrier semi). We offered to meet them close by but they refused, they insisted they had to drive my car 20 minutes away to their office. Having somebody I do not know drive my car away made me very nervous and I did not feel comfortable with this pick up method. They could not answer why they never called about being late. Even though they were late, they ensured me that my vehicle will get to me by Tuesday because they drove as a team meaning they can get to California quick.

Tuesday: Drop off day... No drop off and no phone call made to me

Wednesday: No drop off and no phone call made to me

Thursday: No drop off and no phone call made to me. I became very frustrated and worried at this point. When my vehicle was driven away and is now 3 days past drop off without being contacted, my car sitting on center blocks and gutted was in my mind. I contacted Agape and they found out the truckers are in California and I should get it by the weekend.

Friday: Was contacted by truckers around 11am, saying they're waiting for me down the road from my house. I wasn't surprised they they didn't give me a heads up about an expected time for drop off so I can make arrangements with my job. They're lucky my boss is flexible with leaving the office during the day. They told me to bring jumper cables because my battery is dead. It was a newer (8 months old) battery and they killed it somehow. Once we finally got it jumped, with my cables, with my other car, they revved the living heck out of the engine to "charge" the battery. Revving a engine that hard when cold is horrible on the engine (oil needs to reach all areas first). When inspecting the vehicle, my front license plate holder was broken. I showed them this and they came up with every excuse in the book about how it wasn't their fault, even though it wasn't marked on the inspection papers when it was picked up. At this point, I was so far fed up with this company, that I wasn't going to fight about any repair costs and just wanted them out of my sight and away from my car. I asked for a discount for being 3 days late to pick up (no), 4 days late to drop off (no), killing my battery (no), breaking my license plate holder (no). Also, because they killed my battery and I had to drive it straight to the smog test, I failed smog because my computer hasn't reset itself since the battery died! Another $60 down the drain for failing smog, if the battery never died recently it would have passed smog. I'm new to California so I was unaware of what fails a smog test.

A simple, ten second phone call about why they can't meet pick up day or drop off time would have meant the WORLD to me and I would have given them 4 stars. And they had a cell phone on them so there is no excuse why they couldn't call me. I understand bad weather happens and other problems can happen, but call me if you're going to be late! They could have been a week late for pick up and drop off, thats fine, I had another mode of transportation, but when they're days late without a phone call I was frustrated and worried!

My two vehicle transportation experiences have both been awful. It's not Agapes fault, but the carriers fault, that I will never ship any of my vehicles again. I will take 4 days off work and drive across the states if I have to.

If you are looking to ship a vehicle with a fair price, use Agape but AVOID Cake Auto Transport!

First, we want to apologize to Nick for his experience with the carrier, Cake Auto Transport. We always want our customers to have a great experience with the carriers and if they don't we definitely take that in consideration before ever using them again. There is no excuse for the lack of communication on the carriers part. We do make sure the customers know that the pickup and delivery dates are estimated and the carrier will call at least 6-12 hours prior to arrival. There are times, especially during the winter months, that the carriers may get behind schedule and are not able to pickup and deliver on the exact day they estimated. Unfortunately, Nick misread and misinterpreted our terms and conditions. Item 2 reads: 2) Under the Rock Bottom Shipment option, after Customers order has been accepted by AGAPE, AGAPE will schedule Carrier to pick up the vehicle(s) in approximately 1-7 work days after the "Vehicle Availability date" as indicated on the shipping order confirmation form. If the vehicle is not picked up in the approximate pickup time, the customer can upgrade the order to our Priority Shipment at a discounted rate of $200.00 over and above the original shipping rate or our Expedited Shipment at a discounted rate of $350 over and above the original shipping rate. These dates are subject to normal weather conditions and may differ pending the holiday periods. As you can see, we do not offer a discount if the driver is unable to pickup and deliver on the estimated dates. The discount comes if the customer wants to upgrade to a priority or expedited shipping option. The spot on this particular carrier for suvs that have been lifted and have oversized tires like Nicks was more. We told Nick about this availability and he chose to go ahead with this carrier at their rate. This is always just an option for the customer; its always their choice. We completely understand how Nick feels assure him we will NOT be using this carrier again. We value and respect his feedback. Thank you very much Nick!
