I contracted with Auto Transport to move my vehicle from Houston Texas to Portsmouth, VA. They assigned my vehicle to 1st Class Auto Transport based in NC.

Having never used an auto transport company before, and having heard of negative experiences that a neighbor had in using an auto transport company, I had very low expectations.

The entire process was a breeze. The quote for transport was given at $675 (a fair price to transport my vehicle 1300+ miles). The company actually honored this quote, never asking for a penny more. The vehicle was picked up at my elderly mother-in-laws house. The driver was professional and courteous to her.

In route the truck was to pick up another vehicle. This vehicle turned out to be immoveable and delayed the entire shipment by 1 day. I called to track the progress of my vehicle and received excellent service. In fact the transport company had the driver personally call me from the road. He called back within 30 minutes (this level of promptness is not my typical experience). He informed me of the delay but assured me he was doing everything he could to minimize my inconvenience. The one day delivery delay was not a problem anyway.

The day of delivery the truck actually showed up several hours earlier than expected. The driver called me when he was about an hour and a half away (as promised). My wife and I were at work and could not be home at the exact time the truck was to arrive, but our 16 year old daughter was at home. Normally I would NEVER allow my 16 year old, beautiful, graceful daughter to meet a truck driver alone in the driveway. A quick phone call to a neighbor who agreed to watch over the transaction assuaged my fears. In actuality when the driver arrived he was the picture of a typical long haul truck driver. He was big and rough looking, but very kind and professional to my daughter. I was impressed. The neighbor across the street oversaw the transaction from her front porch. The driver went over the bill of lading with my daughter (who handled the adult transaction excellently), parked the car in the driveway (it was undamaged in every way), and was on his way.

I was extremely impressed with the level of professionalism and promptness displayed by 1st Class Auto Transport. I would absolutely use the company again.
