DAMAGED MY BIKE & WILL NOT PAY FOR IT

On 8/22/07, Auto Valet delivered my automobile and motorcycle, with damage to the motorcycle. I showed the damage to the driver, wrote this information down on the bill of lading, signed it and paid the balance due for the move.

Richard Hayes, the owner of Auto Valet, instructed me to get an estimate for the damages. I took the motorcycle to Competition Powersports and received and estimate for $589.22 Richard called the owner of the shop (Phil) to confirm the damage and informed me that he would pay the bill.

Paul did not take credit cards over the phone, so on 9/4, Richard instructed me to fax a blank deposit slip to him so that he could place the money into my account that same day. He did not. In fact, it wasn't until I called his insurance company (Insurance Designs Corp) and spoke with Dorothy Foxwell, that Richard finally answered his phone and deal with this situation.

After lengthy conversation, Richard agreed to deposit 1/2 the money into my account on 9/7, and the other 1/2 in two (2) weeks. It is now 10/23 and the other 1/2 has not been deposited and Richard refuses to acknowledge my phone calls.

I upheld my end of the moving agreement and paid him promptly for his service. My motorcycle arrived with the handlebars bent and the right grip torn. Richard has admitted his workers tied the bars down too tight and the weight of the bike caused the bars to bend.

I will continue to file complaints and submit opinions online, and copy as many companies as possible regarding the dishonesty of Auto Valet and Richard Hayes.
