CROOKS - car never picked up

On June 13th, 2006 I contacted “V&C WHSE Distribution, INC. dba Autotrail Transporters” regarding the transportation of my car from Los Angeles, CA to Cambridge, MA. The same day they charged my credit card for $950 and gave me the pickup date of June 15th/June 16th 2006. However, that never happened! They claimed that the truck broke down – and stayed that way for more than three weeks. I called them numerous times and they refused to give me new pickup date. They were VERY rude on the phone, and all the time I felt that this is one big scam.
In their contract they say that if they don't pickup car within 14 BUSINESS days, I am eligible for the full refund. I figured out that these people are crooks, and therefore I called them EVERY around the 14-day deadline to make sure that they don’t pull the fast one on me: “oh driver tried to reach you but you were not around, etc”. They kept giving me different stories and reasons for not picking up the car, but nothing happened till July 7th. Since they didn’t pick up my car till July 7th (the end of 14-business day period) I cancelled their services, and requested full refund. They said that I should cancel the services in writing, which I did. I sent them the letter and fax the same day, and I thought that the whole ordeal is over. Little did I know…

On July 11th I was contacted by Autotrail Transporters again and they informed me that due to the “changes in their system they cannot give me refund and post credit on my credit card” (!?!). I freaked out and I contacted my credit card company and disputed the charges and let them deal with these CROOKS!

I was extremely unhappy with the way I was treated by Autotrail Transport – they kept promising several car pick up dates, were not responsive to my inquiries and phone calls, and even yell at me, and hang up phone on me on one occasion. My credit card company is still dealing with Autotrail Transporters and I hope that I will be able to get full refund soon!
