Changed pick up time 3 times, then called and told me driver was a block away and would I drive the car over to them because my neighborhood streets were too narrow. The street they were on was under construction so only one lane was open, which meant my street was twice as wide. When I explained this, the dispatcher then told me the truck couldn't get to me *because* of the construction. Since the household good movers, with the same size vehicle, had just left, I knew this was not true. I told the dispatcher the appropriate route to take. Then she told me there were signs saying No Thru Trucks, so the driver could not get to me. I explained what I thought any truck driver/dispatcher should understand, which is that No Thru Trucks means that trucks are not allowed to cut through neighborhoods to avoid the major streets, not that trucks aren't allowed to drive into the neighborhoods when they have legitimate business there. Still they would not come to me, so I drove my car to the truck, got out in the pouring rain - prepared to walk home along with my mobility assistance service dog (I have MS). After I got there, the truck driver began to complain to me about my lack of willingness to drive there to make things easier for him, since he'd have to go around the block in order to get to me otherwise. I told him I was there now and asked him to please just take the car so that I could get out of the rain and get myself and my assistance dog home. He then shouted profanities at me, got in his car, and left me standing on the side of the road in the rain. I now have to arrange other transport services for my vehicle, and cannot proceed to TX on my scheduled flights as planned.
