Awful experience - they broke my car's rear window glass

Regardless of the magnitude of the series of disappointments I have had working with this unprofessional company, I would try not to sound noisy and be honest in my review so people like me, who have shipping needs, could be benefited.

In summary:
1. They changed the pick-up date at the last moment
2. They increased the price by $150 at the last moment
3. They were sweet communicators initially and unresponsive later
4. Big final impact: They broke the rear window glass of my car

If you can, try some other shipping company hoping they may be better. If interested to know details, do read forward.

I had to ship my Honda CR-V from Quincy, MA to Salt Lake City, UT and I went ahead with this company called Cascade Vehicle Shipping because of their reviews and low price quote. Like any other company, they wanted me to book about 2 weeks in advance so they can arrange for a carrier in time. I booked with them (agent name: Kate Winters) on 08/05 (almost 3 weeks before) for pick-up of my car on 08/25.

After booking, the first call that I got from them (caller's name: Kayla) was not before 08/22 (3 days before pick-up) and she told that car would be picked-up on 08/24 instead of 08/25 and that the price has now increased by $150. I was like "If this is the case, why do they try to confirm everything in advance? When I have given them enough time to plan for carrier and pick-up, the best they could do was call only 3 days before to let me know 'THIS'?" I was unhappy and I told that neither of this would be acceptable. She said she would revert after talking to the carrier. Obviously, I did not get a call back.

As I was worried about what was going on, I called Kate to understand. She said carrier would come on 08/25 and she would send the final price in email and that everything looks good with the price. When I got the email, I found they had increased the price by $60.

On 08/24, I got a call from the driver Aaron that he is coming the same day and he cannot come on 08/25. My frustration increased. He said that the date he received from Cascade was 08/24 and not 08/25 so I had to be ready on 08/24.
I called and e-mailed Kate multiple times about this, but she never responded. She kind of became indifferent as she might knew that I would not have any choice at the last moment. Wow! This was not professional!
She was right though. Finally, I had no other choice at the last moment than to have my car shipped on 08/24.

Now, the big final blow. My car was delivered to me in extreme dirty conditions from outside (could understand to some extent) and also from inside (what? how did that happen?). I learnt from the driver that since he had my car parked reverse on the trailer, the rear window could not withstand the pressure of the wind pressing against the rear window at high speed. "What? Did he not know that only windshields are designed to take that kind of wind pressure, not the rear window? obviously no one drives in reverse gear at 70 miles per hour" The rear window, therefore, broke and by the time this smart driver could find that out, all the dirt, flies, insects etc. and small broken glass pieces had made my car their home. He got the original Honda rear window replaced with a duplicate one (he said original). When I asked for receipt, he did not have that even. The driver's carrier company KC Auto Transport later sent me the receipt and I found the replacement was a duplicate window glass.

I would suggest anyone who is reading this to try some other company if they can and not be a victim like me. It is YOUR choice at the end that makes the difference.

Kate or someone else from this company may reply and defend through some explanations but this review is for consumers, not for them.
