I transported my car from Kansas City to San Diego with John Hitchcock, the owner of Cougar Auto Transport. I used a broker to put me in touch with them and since they are 150 miles away from me, I would never have been able to find out about Cougar. I am sure glad that I did!
I must admit that I was very apprehensive about shipping a car 1,650 miles and did have a lot of questions concerning timing (both pickup and drop off), safety, communication, insurance, etc. I know I had more questions than the normal person.
When I met John Hitchcock, I felt comfortable right off the bat. I just had a feeling that I could trust him and he answered all my questions. We filled out the bill of lading. He explained how the car was being hooked to the big rig, where it was going to be loaded, how to keep in communication with him, what day he was looking to arrive in California, etc. I will admit, that having never done this before, I was still nervous. When the car arrived, it was a great relief to see it undamaged and in my hands again. I felt like I had just given it to John in Kansas City and then here he was in San Diego giving it back to me. I know car dealers do this all the time, but it is sure different when one is doing it individually.
I will defiinitely use CougarAuto Transport again. They basically ship cars from approximately a 200 mile radius of Kansas City to the west coast (from San Diego up to L.A. area) and points in between including Oklahoma, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and then from the west coast back again.
