I was moving from Los Angeles California area to Orlando Florida area.
I hired Cross Country Auto Transport after contact about 6 different companies, they seemed the most professional on the phone and emails, but that as it turns out was it! I wanted 3 cars shipped cross country and they charged me $2500. $325 as a retainer (most of these companies are brokers, this is their fee). Rest due on receipt of vehicles. They were suppose to come pick up the cars 6/27-6/28. They picked up one then returned it later that day because of a battery failure. I fixed it then asked them to pick it up the next day with the other 2 cars. Thats where the problems began, no one did so for the following week and I had to leave my vehicles with a relative to be picked up because we flew to Florida and my stuff was shipped as well. After many delays, excuses, etc, I found this wonderful website and found that, at the time, Cross Country was #4 on the bad list! I was sick to my stomach...because of the delays in moving the cars I had to rent a car and I was living this nightmare! I called them the next morning and fired them and hired Angels Moving Autos. They were great...came picked up the cars in less than 48 hours and were cheaper too! Great Communications from Angels and I got my cars in a week! I have since filed a dispute with my credit card company and they are going after them! Lesson learned! Use a Credit Card and check this site before hiring any auto transporter!
