I would actually give it just below a 4. Explanation... so I booked on April 9th at around 10pm EST with the expedited delivery. On April 10th at 11am a carrier was assigned and the vehicle was confirmed for pickup that next afternoon. Amazingly Quick! Very impressed. The carrier arrived on time and the family member helping me out in California said the loading went very well and very quick. The car was being moved from California to Eastern side of Michigan. The projected delivery was the 17th. Amazingly the carrier called on the 15th in the afternoon and said he was 2 hours away. 2 DAYS ahead of schedule... I was very impressed to say the least.
What started the downhill was the unloading and the interaction following.
As the driver was backing my CTS-V down the ramps (which he didn’t lower all the way to the street) before I could tell him to stop he scrapes my carbon fiber front splitter on the ramps and cracks and shreds the clear coat. I told him that he caused the damage as he was backing it down and he argued with me that it was already there. I took pictures and even annotated it on the delivery form. When he saw that I marked it down as delivery damage he grabbed the clipboard and scratched it out saying that it was already there. I decided not to get in an argument and took my car. When I got back to my apartment I called the Direct Express line and left a message with Name, Phone # and Order number and a message to please call me back so I could at the very least file a complaint (I figured it’d be a long shot to file a claim because the splitter is aftermarket and is technically the underside of the car) about the carrier company and driver. The 15th was a Sunday so I didn’t not expect to be called back until Monday. It is now the 23rd and I still have not received a call back.
Had it not been for the carrier this would have been a shinning review and a perfect delivery. At this point I am not really worried about the minor damage to the splitter. I’m just glad I got my car. Despite all this I would recommend Direct Express just make sure you watch out for the carrier MC TRANS.
