I spoke with Ralph at Dolphin Auto Transport and told him I needed my car to arrive in El Segundo on June 9. He gave me a cost of $550 and assured me that if I contracted the car to be picked up on June 7, it would arrive on June 9. I agreed and paid a fee to him of $200. On June 7 we had not heard from him so called him. He told us our car would be picked up late in the day. He then called us in the evening to ask us if it was ok to pick up the car in the morning. We reluctantly agreed. The next morning again we didn't hear from him, so telephoned him. He told us the driver was probably asleep and was still hoping he would be out to pick up our car. He then called back to say he was finding another driver and would call back in 20 minutes. I asked for his personal phone number because I knew the office would be closing because it was a Saturday and was now worried my car would not arrive on time. He assured me he would be reachable. He never called and was unreachable. Now the office was closed until Monday. I had no choice but to call another transport company because my daughter needed the car in California asap. Ralph left a message on Tuesday (3 days after my urgent messages) to call him back. I talked to him and he said a driver should have called me on Tuesday (no driver called). I told him I wanted my $200 back and he referred me to the contract that he had 6 days to provide a driver and the 6 days were not up so I would not be getting my broker fee back. As soon as I hung up the phone we think someone pretending to be driver called because he said he could pick up our car in 10 minutes (he would have to be parked at the corner to do that - unlikely). When my husband said we were supposed to get an hour notice he was not sure he could do that. This company is deceitful and provide horrible customer service. I subsequently found out other companies do not collect a fee until AFTER the car is picked up.
