The overall experience was good. The car was picked up on time and delivered early. For people that are just waiting for the car an early delivery is great. I was out of town and my husband had to get out of work to receive the car a day early. Domestic Auto Transport was fairly good but when I was scheduling the pick-up I requested a 24 hour confirmation notice. The person in charge of my account was out of the office 24 hours before my scheduled pick up and didn't get my e-mail/phone call about carrier not contacting me as agreed. The carrier's number didn't work and I was out of town so I had to wait for DAT's call the next day. At the end of the day all was fine with the carrier and during transport but the initial transaction wasn't pleasant. Another wrinkle was the payment. DAT asked for cash payment to driver. Driver didn't want to take payment and when I came back into town I had to follow up to find out what had happened. I was asked to coordinate with carrier for payment - again, poor coordination between carrier and DAT. The carrier was nice, texted me to let me know he had the car, and texted when the car arrived. One last piece that was uncomfortable, constant calls and e-mails from DAT to submit my 5 star feedback to enter into a full refund raffle. They were good, generally friendly and did a good job but I would not give them a 5 star review. I hope that sharing my experience will improve coordination with carriers and consumers.
