This was my first/only experience using a long-distance car transporter. In the end it worked out and I now have my car but there were a couple of "glitches" in the process. My car was not able to make it on a car carrier before I had to leave on my move. That necessitated me to enlist the help of a friend to meet the driver and sign-off on the bill of lading. I had booked several weeks in advance and had allowed what I thought was a wide window for the pick-up. (It was picked up 3 days after my departure and arrived 2300 miles away 7 days later. It was undamaged, although the gray grit and film from presumably going through snow areas in the mountains was so thick that one couldn't even tell what color the car actually was.) The other thing was that the original quoted price had to be bumped up $50 to better entice a driver/transporter. The people at DAT were very nice and accessible, Holly handled my order and I also spoke with Elizabeth a time or two. Overall, I will rate the service as "3 stars" or a grade of "C" for average.
