I live in Canada. I bought my car on EBay. The car was located in West Palm Beach. I needed to ship the car from West Palm Beach to a public place in Washington State. I needed to be updated with the status at least a business day before arrival so I can arrange with a friend to take a day off and drive down to Washington to meet the driver and drive the car back to BC before 3:30pm when the US Border Auto Export office closes.

I picked Domestic Auto Transport because of good reviews, its proximity to BC, and the best quoted price. I discussed a backup plan with Domestic where if an emergency comes up and I can't meet the driver, they could take delivery of my car and I would come down and pick it up at a later date. The key is to inform me early so I do not get a surprise call hours or minutes before the driver arrives.

Unfortunately, I did not get any updates during the transport and the car did arrive early on a Friday and I did get a call from the driver minutes before he was to deliver my car and I could not meet the driver that hour. By the time I would get there, the US export office would be closed and I would have to leave the car in the States over the weekend. The driver was not happy with me when I told him that I could not meet him right away. To make a long story short, a satisfactory solution was found with the dispatcher where the car was delivered and stored in a storage facility over the weekend and I picked it up on Monday.

On the plus side, I did get an upgrade to enclosed transport. Despite a bit of stress, things worked out and I had a good deal.
