This is a longer review but worth reading if you're considering booking with Fleet Express Auto.
I had high hopes for transporting my vehicle through Fleet Express Auto. I had gone online and read reviews and felt comfortable with them prior to my transport. I wouldn't wish what I had to go through on ANYONE. In April of 2012 I contracted for a transport from Orlando to Vegas on July 28. I do realize that they cannot guarantee a date, so in the days following up to my transport, I called to check in on when I was slotted to have my vehicle picked up so I could schedule my flight to Vegas. I left a voicemail and didn't receive a response in 24hrs, so I emailed to follow up. My representative, Kimberly Baker, responded stating I was all set for the 28th. I called just to double check as well and get a timeframe of when the vehicle would be picked up and she advised the driver would call me 4hrs prior to picking up my Jeep. Midday hit on the 28th and I called Fleet Express Auto to follow up- they stated they never had me down for the 28th, but for the 29th. I explained that I'd been told verbally and via email I was set for the 28th, and they apologized for the mix up and I honestly believed it was a mix up. I had wasted my day the 28th waiting around and had other movers coming on the 29th, but it wasn't a huge deal.
Midday the 29th rolled around and I again called to check on the status of my driver as I was told he would be there by 3PM. Kimberly said she'd look into it and call me back. After an hour, I called back to follow up and was told my driver had broken down and wouldn't be able to pick me up that day. I was very annoyed, yet again was naiive to think these things happen, and was understanding but firm that I needed a driver no later than the next day, the 30th. Kimberly was apologetic and seemed genuine that she had a driver lined up for me the 30th. I asked her if I was 100% set as I was due to fly out the 31st, she said yes and apologized for the issues to that point.
The 30th came and I called first thing in the morning to get an approximate time my vehicle would be picked up. Instead of having a time on hand, Kimberly advised me to just call the driver and gave me his number. I called the number she gave me and the voicemail box was full and there was repeatedly no answer. Midday I was frustrated and called the driver non-stop 5+ times to get him to answer, which he did. I then explained he was my driver for the day and asked the approximate time he'd be arriving. This driver stated he had no pickups in Orlando for that day. I confirmed he was to pick up no Jeep Liberty and he stated no, that wasn't on his given agenda. I was furious. I called Fleet Auto Express and left a message stating I got ahold of "my driver" and he didn't have any pickups in Orlando. I explained that I NEEDED my car picked up the 30th. After 30min of no call back, I called again, and again, and again almost every 15min with no answer ever. I left one more voicemail stating that if my car couldn't be picked up the 30th then I wouldn't be able to do the transfer (as I was leaving the 31st). Never received a call back from Kimberly. I remembered I had a number for her associate and after countless calls to Kimberly I tried that number and Richard, her associate, answered. He was friendly upon answering and I stayed calm and explained I'd been given a driver's number and that driver stated he had no pick ups in my area. He asked for my name to look up my file and the phone went silent for 30sec-1min after that. He then came back on the line and said Kimberly would be calling me back in 15min to discuss. I asked if she was really calling me back since I had been trying to reach her for 2+ hours and he laughed and said yes, she's right here next to me and will call you back. I stated I'd like to talk to her then and he said she was busy. Needless to say, I never received a call back from Kimberly and none of my calls to Kimberly or Richard were answered following that brief conversation.
The next day I tried again to make contact again and my calls were continually forwarded to voicemail so I booked with another company for $500 more than I had with Fleet Express Auto due to the late notice. That day, I received a call from a driver from Fleet Express Auto saying he was 2hrs away- I couldn't believe it!! I had 0 notice and as far as Fleet Express Auto knew, I was already in Vegas at this time. I had had to switch my flight because my vehicle wasn't picked up as initially indicated and that was the only reason I was still in Orlando. Their driver then told me off for booking them "the day before" and canceling the next day. I told him I had booked in APRIL, not yesterday. Kimberly emailed me stating I'd never properly canceled and she'd sent her driver out and to call her immediately. I couldn't believe the extreme unprofessionalism with this company. Obviously I would've formerly canceled had someone answered the phone! And I left messages briefly explaining my situation as well. My $200 deposit couldn't be returned to me because I didn't give proper notice of cancellation and I had to pay the $500 extra to switch companies- not to mention switch my flight and pay that penalty. I was very naiive in believing this company would take care of my vehicle and I don't recommend anyone uses this company. I'm sure they don't screw up every transfer but who wants to take the chance it's their transfer that's messed up??
