When people look up my company that don't realize I'm 54. They don't realize I've been moving cars since 1987. Experience is the key in this industry. How does a young broker even know who to trust? Until you have been in this industry for a long time - until you see how often some truck drivers switch companies and start up new ones to hide bad reviews... you'll never have a good feel for who to use and who to avoid. These young kids in the cubicles are way over their heads. Most of these young sales people do not have the ability to choose a truck. They do not do the dispatching for their company. Typically these new young sales people can not see the correct rate for the route. They have to trust a price sheet or whatever cost per mile their sales manager tells them to use. They are working blind. How do I know this? I used to work for a company like that a long time ago. One of the best benefits of running my own company is that I can see what is going on in all departments. No confusion - nothing missed.... best pricing possible can be achieved.
