Unnecessary Stress by Poor Customer Service

I arranged for MJ to transport my car over a month in advance from DC to Florida. After i put my deposit down i contacted them and they told me that a week before the pick-up date i would be assigned a driver and i would be able to better coordinate timing of pickup. Well, the week before pick up came and i got no response so i called to make sure they had not forgotten me. They had not and said they were working on it. This went on for the next few days without any feedback from MJ about the status of my pick up. It went down to the wire where on the day before the pick up they finally told me that they found someone to take my vehicle to Florida. I had to call 5 times during that week to get any information from them about my status because i was not sure if i had to look elsewhere for service. When i would call i would also get different responses; first that i should hear back by the next day. So the next day would come and go and nothing. This continued to happen throughout the week and it seemed they were just feeding me answers without just coming clean as to what the situation was. There was no reason whatsoever that a customer should be kept in the dark until the day before pick up not knowing if service would be provided or not. This is why my ratings reflect so poorly. The customer service until then was abysmal. I do have to say that the transport company they eventually put me in contact with was great and i will go back to them directly for future business. I would cut the middleman out (MJ) and just work with the transport company. In the end things worked out but there was a lot of unnecessary stress created by MJ by keeping their customer uninformed about what was going on. Remember, people are not just transporting cars; they are also moving across states and and are planning those details as well throughout this process. A need for hassle free service is what i was looking for and MJ didn't provide that.
