Basically this transport broker was contacted to pick up a car in one week. They 100% said that would be no problem. There was actually another vehicle in the same area that was being picked up on the same day that I needed(Friday). The price was quoted and the deposit was paid. I did sign a contract but was told that the car would be picked up on the date they told me. This was imperative because I was flying out of town. Two days prior to pickup I was notified by actual car carrier that they would pick up my car two days late(Sunday). They indicate that they were NEVER told the car needed pickup on a Friday. They would try and pickup on Saturday but it would probably be Sunday. I made arrangements for Sunday. On Friday I received notification that now the car carrier had "transmission" trouble and thus the car would be picked up on Monday to which I replied this was unacceptable. Then the broker wanted me to have a different third party company pick up my car to store until the car transport to pick up (I have to give them positive comments for attempting to help ) My fundamental problem here is 1) I do not like the bait and switch of saying someone will pickup a car on a friday then it turn out to be Monday. 2) I don't like the idea of leaving my car with yet another third part and to trust them to put my car on a carrier 3) A transmission problem sounds like the carrier that the broker had picked is not using properly maintained carriers in which they are entrusting my car. I simply asked for 1/2 my deposit to be refunded. There were just too many factors in the pickup and transport of my car. Well Hal went ballistic saying what a terrible person I am for canceling. I had called him several times telling him that while I could be flexible from a Friday pickup to a Sunday morning pickup that I simply could not change my flight after Sunday morning. On the contrary I had contacted Progressive and asked for the same route. Once they knew of my schedule they attempted to make the transport happen, however, at the last minute they could not come through and they DID NOT take my money. I will call them again. I will NEVER call quicktimemovers.net again. Mainly because I felt like I was being taken advantage of. Yes things happen but they were rude and not willing to locate another reliable carrier for this job. They lost 2 cars in this deal. I had future business that i was going to through them (about 12 cars east coast to west coast ) and he scoffed at me saying he did not need my business. Not very customer services. Rude and once he has his deposit doesn't really care about his customers. I never raised my voice and attempted to remain pleasant trying to find alternatives. Wasn't an option for him.
