My nightmare began when I unknowingly engaged the services of a broker transport company instead of a transport company directly. In order to pick up both my vehicles on time -- they first charged me on amount and nearing the pick up date -- they increased by more than two fold and told me to pay it or else my vehicles would not be picked up on time. Because I was moving across the country and had a definite departure date -- that left me no choice but to pay them the extra $200 as I didn't have the time to look for another transporter. So both vehicles were picked up on time and taken to a holding terminal where they were waiting to be picked up for over three weeks...and each time I called to find out the status of my vehicles, I was given the run around and told different versions of what was going on. After about three weeks -- when I called to find out where my vehicles were....I was told by the broker that my car was picked up already and on it's way to me, while my SUV was still waiting to be picked up in the terminal.......and they said that they couldn't tell me any more....so I asked for the information of the transport company that supposedly was transporting my car and proceeded to call them and ask them where it was at the time....I was then told by that transport company that they never did pick up my car because by the time their driver got to the terminal to do so -- both my vehicles had already been picked up by another transport company......And so I had to call the broker back to ask what was going on and this woman Diane yelled at me and told me to just wait for when the vehicle got there although she promised to call me back with the status of my vehicles within the day each of the times that I had called over the last 2 weeks....and then she hung up me.....Then when I called again and spoke to Jean (the manager/owner) he said he did not have time to handle my concerns regarding what his worker had so rudely done to me.....but found out the information regarding my vehicles and told me that it was with come other transport company and that I should just be happy that my vehicles were coming soon....I was very unhappy with their service and wanted to lodge a complaint with the either the manager or the owner. But since Jean was the manager, I asked for the name of the owner, which he proceeded to provide me a name which I later found out from another source that it was actually the name of his son who no longer worked there and that Jean was indeed the owner....Fast forward to the day when I received my cars.....First of all, I want everyone to know that before I shipped my cars, they were both cleaned out and vacuumed completely and thoroughly -- but when I opened the back door and trunk door-- I found the biggest mess -- consisting of sand, urine on my seats, urine on the whole trunk floor and urine filled in the evian bottles that were in my truck -- the driver had apparently had a wonderful time in my vehicle during his cross country trip -- he not only put the back seats down and used it as a bed -- he opened up my dogs lambs wool blanket and used as his own blanket and then threw it in a pile on top of the urine mess that he created. The driver drank my evian water and then filled the bottle up with his urine and he also threw out the contents of 2 containers of car wipes and filled those containers with urine as well.....he also threw out the chamois and placed a plastic bag into that container and proceeded to urinate in it.........When I called the transport company that drove my car across I was told by Fred that he would put in a claim with the head office and call me back the next day to let me know what was going on -- Of course -- he never did , and went on to avoid my calls every day for the next week...when I finally managed to get him on the phone again.....he said that he could do nothing and laughed in my face that he wasn't going to do anything and at that moment he told me to go to the broker transport company with my complaint instead.........although he told me he would definitely call me back as he had to put a claim in the next day.....so this has been my nightmare so far........the detailer had to completely steam clean my SUV five times over and drenched it with odor remover in order to remove the stench from it...otherwise the whole vehicle could not be driven........I wanted to write this to tell everyone to beware of these transport companies who do this to our vehicles when we pay them good money and entrust them with it........And they are only efficient and quick to return your calls when they are requesting more money and payment from you -- after that -- they are rude and mean to you every time you call........And to set the record straight -- I only called a total of 4 times during the entire month that my vehicle was gone and that was the way that they treated me...So it wasn't as if I was calling and bugging them every hour on the hour.............Good luck to all of you out there who are planning to transport your vehicle -- may you have a better experience than me......What a horrible homecoming it was!!!!!!!!!!!
