I posted one earlier during the throes of dealing with Snowbird: Joe and Gene, who hung up on me. Now that it's all over, here are the pertinent facts.
- Picked up 9 March and finally received 10 May
- The van sat in their terminal while they looked for a cheap carrier so they could make a profit. They quoted 10-12 days.
- They gave the van to wrong carrier and ended up in LA instead of WA state. Snowbird gave me run-around for 1 1/2 weeks while I was "#1 priority" and during which Gene hung up on me.
- I paid carrier $750 to get the van directly, after I paid Snowbird the full amount ahead of time.
- After picking up the van in LA via a friend, I paid another company $600 to ship it up north to me.
- Van arrived with rear seats unlatched and sitting sideways and cigarette burn in the carpet.
- worked with credit card company to get *ALL* charged reversed
- Checked with BBB. Show 71 complaints lodged against Snowbird in the last 12 months. You really have to try to be that bad.
What can be done to turn people away? Make Google and other search engines turn up this website when people search for auto transport.
