Everything went well, but . . .

Now that I have your attention with the "but", let me elaborate on the "Everything went well" part. Cory is really great, and the other agents are also very courteous and helpful. Dee went to great lengths to get me copies of the paperwork that I needed (Thanks again, Dee!). The car was picked up on time and delivered in 10 days as scheduled, and in great condition too. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Now for the "but" part, and this does not reflect on Specialty Mobile in any way. When the transporter picked up the car, he made a note of existing damage on the car. This is a newer car that has been mainly garaged, so I was expecting that the existing damage diagram would be mostly blank. Yet when he handed me the form to sign, it looked like I was asking him to transport a wreck. He had noted down every minute ding and scratch that was visible. And the form does not allow you to differentiate between a very small superficial scratch or a 2 inch deep gouge; both would be noted as a "scratch". This made me very nervous because in the event that the transporter subjected the car to abuse and delivered it in poor shape, I would not have any grounds for a claim, since they could easily say that the damage was pre-existing (they had a form with my signature on it to prove it!). Moreover, the transporter flatly refused to take the vehicle unless I signed the form the way it was. Given the timing constraints, I had no choice but to sign. Luckily, the car arrived in the same condition that it was picked up, so I worried for nothing. But reading the other reviews where a lot of people got a "bad" transporter, I feel that my concern is justified. The industry needs to take another look at this form that the transporters require you to sign. In the meantime, I would advise that you take lots of pictures of the car before you hand it over, just in case you get one of the bad guys.
